Vacation Mode…

Thinking about visiting St.Maarten? My opinion is don’t think just book the ticket! Now! Visiting St. Maarten was one of the best if not the best vacations I have ever taken in my life! I vlogged some of my vacation here on YouTube. Let’s firstly discuss the food. If you really want that authentic island food, your best bet is going to get food on the roadside. That’s where they cater more to the locals and the food is going to taste how it’s supposed to taste. No shade to tourist and obviously I was one but as someone of Jamaican descent I can tell you a lot of islands that rely on tourism will modify the taste of food to cater to tourists and ends up being disgusting. Straight from the airport you have to stop at The Captains Rib Shack. Amazing drinks and even better food. I had the ribs and rice and peas and plantain. Seasoned to perfection.

There is a Dutch side to the island as well as a French side. I stayed on the Dutch side at The Holland House Beach Hotel. One of the concierge at the Hotel whose name was Lucciene was a big help! She was super sweet and set up all the activities as well as taxi services that was needed. The beach is right outside your door so you don’t have to walk far for a swim or to lay out.

As for nightlife there are quite a few spots in Philipsburg on the strip but one in particular that I loved was District 721. There are sections available, hookah if that’s your thing but most of all great music and great vibes. The beaches are great on both sides of the island but it is said the beaches are better on the french side. You can charter a boat and visit multiple beaches if you’d like. Remember to bring your sunscreen because the sun is extra hot over there! I even got sunburn on my scalp! Last but not least the photo ops are superb over there so you’ll get all the content! Check my pics out out on Instagram! Have you ever been to St. Maarten/Sint Martin?
